New Year, New Goals, New Vegan You

Winter is upon us and that means the holiday season is around the corner. Have any of you thought about your goals for the new year? Well, it’s not too early to begin thinking about it! Maybe your goals are work or fitness related. Or, maybe it’s food related! Or it’s all three! Whatever type of goals you have for next year, I can help for your food related goals! No matter if you’re a beginner vegan or a veteran, I have an idea for you.

Meal Goals: A Colorful Plate

Have you noticed you’ve been eating the same thing? Or a variation of it? Or on a rotation of dishes through the month. Break the habit and give your dishes more color! A colorful dish has more flavor and nutrients. Not sure where to start? Try meal prepping before the week even begins! Broaden Your Horizons

Similar to the last goal, get creative in the kitchen! You’ll never be bored of your meals! If you’re a year into the diet, then maybe you need a few tips. If there’s a dish you miss when you weren’t vegan, figure out how to adjust it. Check out these ideas to help get you rolling!

The Healthier You

Whether being healthy means losing your winter weight or shedding several pounds you put on years ago, the vegan diet can help! Set your weight goal for 2019 and then make a game plan. Perhaps that’s adding more vegetables and less heavy pastas to your meals. Or, you want to add more healthy fats to your diet. Remember, don’t go to the extreme to meet your goal! Turn Up the Intensity

I wrote in a previous post about training for a competition as a vegan. Have you figured out your balance between diet and exercise? If you have, then it’s time to take it to the next level. Take the diet out for a spin and sign up for a sporting event. Doesn’t matter what you specialize in, show up to your first (or next) marathon, 5k, or swimming event as a proud vegan. Smash those stereotypes that vegans can’t compete with the highest intensity possible!

Now just book your flight to where your heart desires! Maybe last year wasn’t your year to travel. But 2019 is! You’ve thought about it and maybe save up for it! Now it’s time to the take the final leap and go for it! You’ll be able to get the most out of your travels no matter your diet!
