A New Year For Animals
Closing out the year and beginning a new one is a pretty good time for reflection and goal-setting. In the past year, you have probably gotten closer to reaching a goal, or maybe set new ones. Where would you like to see yourself a year from now?
Reflecting on how far the vegan movement has come and all the cool things that 2018 has brought us is a great motivator to jump right into 2019, ready to make it a good year. Whether your goal is to create a food blog, get more familiar with cruelty-free makeup, become a stronger activist, or just getting healthier in general, starting now will maximize productivity in 2019.
This year, make time for the things that are important to you. Make a list of baby steps you can take to achieve your goals and start crossing them off. Setting goals for yourself as an activist will keep your heart in it and it will help you grow. Whether you are visiting a local sanctuary, trying out vegan restaurants, holding demonstrations, or just sharing links on social media, all activism matters. You can even apply to be a concert representative with peta2 and go to shows to talk to people about animal liberation. I can’t think of a better way to kick off 2019 than meeting an amazing group of vegans, making a difference for the animals, and making a little cash on the side while doing so.
Whether you choose to be more active in the vegan community, or focus on your own personal journey, setting goals this year will help you get to where you want to be. Even smaller goals will help keep you on track. If your goal is to cook something new once a week, just imagine how many new dishes you will have added to your armory by 2020! When you sit down and make your list of things you hope to do in the new year, try to write down one goal for animals. They need people like you in order to achieve their goal of freedom.
